SWRK 681 : Helping Caregivers
This course focuses on the impact of mental illness on the family and other caregivers of the mentally ill. Issues discusses incluse to burden of care, the role of family expressed emotions, and grieving and loss. Clinical interventions based on the psychoeducational approach are explored. The development and training of the profesional caregivers in psychiatric boarding homes as well as the legal and clinical process of placement are described.
